Now, what does all this mean to you?
Let’s get into it!
Being listed under the category of affordable phones, your expectations should not be through the roof. We are not saying that this is the best budget smartphone that you can purchase, however the ZTE Z557bl specs are something worth taking a look at.
Let’s dive deeper into some of its features.
Design & Display
The ZTE Z5 G LTE, is made from a plastic outer shell which is expected at this price range. Plastic is great for sturdy use and is less susceptible to damage in comparison to glass.
The back cover can be removed to show the battery compartment and the slot for the microSD card as well, allowing for easy maintenance and replacement of any malfunctioning parts.
The Z5 G LTE is also shipped out with an IPS display rather than a standard LCD or AMOLED display. Although this does not have great quality, it allows for extreme viewing angles. The IPS (In-Plane Switching) display provides the user with the ability to look at the phone from almost any angle making it one of the most versatile displays out there.
One of the drawbacks to the IPS display is the low refresh rate which makes it unsuitable for gaming except for low-end games.
The ZTE ZFive G LTE features a 5Megapixel back camera with a LED flash and autofocus feature. The autofocus feature will allow your camera to focus faster and take better pictures while adapting to the light of your surroundings.
You can also switch between default (Auto) mode and manual mode to enjoy more personalized settings like adjusting ISO levels, white balance, or even adding some special effects. Additionally, the front-facing selfie camera allows for hands-free shooting, which uses smile recognition to capture pictures automatically.
The camera even supports high-quality video recording in HDR mode and even includes a panorama mode, which we found pleasantly surprising on a mobile phone of such calibre.
The front selfie cam has a 2Megapixel lens which comes in handy for video calling and taking self-portraits in good lighting.
The ZTE ZFive G LTE ships with onboard storage of 8GB with about 4GB available to the user. While that may look disappointing to a few users, it does support storage expansion up to 64GB with an external microSD card. This should be enough to store a lot of user content.
ZTE ZFive G LTE comes equipped with a 2200mAh removable battery. It has a good life as it will give you up to almost 12 hours of talk time and up to 8 days of standby time.
With regular use, it was able to last a full workday. Thanks to the fact that it is removable, you are free to carry a spare battery that you can switch if the primary battery runs out. Once again appealing to a larger demographic who find it convenient to switch out batteries in case of an emergency.
With a 2018 release, it is equipped with the older Android 7.1 Nougat. It also has a Snapdragon processor with a speed of 1.1Ghz and 1GB RAM. This isn’t a lot by today’s standards, but with the lightweight UI, basic mobile functionality such as calls, messaging and web browsing can be done without any lag or stutter.
The ZTE ZFive G LTE is a no-brainer if you are looking for a budget device that handles basic functionality well.
