You may not know that LG was established as a chemical industrial corporation in 1947. It has concentrated mostly on electronics up until 2007 when it launched its first touch screen phone. Currently, they do make a lot of high-end smartphones that have found LG a spot in the phone industry for good. Additionally, the brand has also launched a bunch of budget phones with great features.
In this LG Premier Pro LTE review, released in 2018, we cover a more mid-tier phone.
Two models were released with mostly the same specifications – L413DL and L414DL. Both have the following key features in common:
1280 x 720 pixels
5.3” (135 mm) HD display
8GB (built-in), expandable to 2TB
8MP (main camera), 5MP (front camera)
Rear-mounted fingerprint scanner
The LG UX 6.0 can be found in both models. The L413DL was released with Android Nougat 7.1, whereas the L414DL came with upgraded Android 8.1. The LG Premier Pro LTE has a 2GB RAM and Snapdragon 425 processor. The fingerprint scanner is quite fast and detects prints accurately.
There is an 8MP camera with autofocus, which clicks pictures very fast. The 5MP front camera might not be exceptional, but the gesture shots for selfies sure are convenient. It has a micro SD slot supporting up to 2TB disk space extension, which really should be put to use (that’s huge!).
Not many parts of this phone can be found in the market today. If you do find any, you will only find LG Premier LTE Tracfone. Since it is specified by a carrier, it is only available in specific locations. It is still available on Amazon! You read that right. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself:
What’s So Great About This Phone?
Many of the features can commonly be found in its competitors. It has a strong metal casing that looks and feels good in the hand but can be a bit slippery. Nothing that a back cover can’t solve. The best word to describe this would be ‘affordable’. The RAM, processor, camera are all average. However, you get a lot for what you will have to pay for this phone.
Even though this device is far from a flagship, there are some unique features that should be brought to light:
Alternatives You Might Want To Look At
Since this phone was released two years ago, the price has significantly decreased. In a similar price range, there are other brands you can check out – Motorola, Nokia or even Samsung. We recommend Motorola.
This was also released in 2018 and currently available on Amazon. With only a few differences, this set can be a great alternative in the same price range:
If I had to give an honest opinion, this phone was not LG’s best. LG did manufacture the Nexus 5X and 6P that were loved by Android users around the world. So I feel they could have added more features. Even with the gesture controls, the Premier Pro LTE does not really stand out in the crowd. But at the end of the day, you can always trust LG to use quality material.
Given the low price range, maybe this is all they could do.
